    Betsy Elliott is the founder and managing partner of Walker Elliott. Betsy has spent 30+ years in the technical recruiting industry. She has a passion for establishing long-term relationships with her clients, with many business partnerships which have lasted over 20 years. Whether she is working on a specialized search assignment or just helping candidates establish salary budgets or performance reviews, Betsy works to provide clientele with the highest level of service.

    Betsy earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Computer Science from the University of North Texas. She established Walker Elliott after spending many years as a successful manager with a national firm, where she led teams in all aspects of technical recruiting. She enjoyed 20 consecutive years of profitability in what was usually the most profitable division of the firm.

    As a founder, Betsy’s first goal was to establish the right professional culture, collaborative team structure and compensation plan to attract, hire, and retain the top recruiting talent. Her second goal was to provide clients with the best market intelligence and search services in market niches. Betsy’s top recruiters have an average of 14 years’ experience recruiting in a technical niche.

    Betsy has accomplished her vision for Walker Elliott. The Walker Elliott team is the finest of its kind, and the company has been listed in Inc. Magazine’s America’s Fastest-Growing Private Companies: Inc. 5000 for three consecutive years. The company has also been listed in the Houston 100 two years in a row and in the Top Direct Hire Firms in Houston for two years.

    Marketing and Financials

    Joe co-founded Walker Elliott in 2006. He manages the Marketing and Financials for Walker Elliott.

    Prior to Walker Elliott Joe worked as an engineer/consultant in the Software Products industry. He brings over 25 years’ experience in product development, sales, marketing and business management. At Setpoint he worked an Applications Engineer, Product Manager, defined the initial Product Support and Quality Assurance programs, Refinery Marketing Manager. At AspenTech he defined the Product Migration plan and Director of Services. At PAS he was the Business Director for a Product Line.

    Joe is also involved with several community organizations severed as VP Fundraising, and then President of the Stratford Playhouse Booster Club. He was involved with Pack 202 serving as a Den Leader for 9 years, and Troop 13 serving as an Assistant Scoutmaster, Committee Chairman, and Eagle Scout Advisor. He is currently on the board for the Spring Branch Education Foundation (SBEF).

    Oil & Gas

    Marianne Thai is a Baylor graduate with a Master’s degree from Houston Baptist University. Shortly after graduating HBU, she began her career as a professional recruiter. Marianne is a partner of Walker Elliott and serves on the management team. Her ten years of experience as a recruiter have been exceptional, earning her an invitation to be in Pinnacle Society as of 2014, a society for the top 2% of professional recruiters in the nation. She has also been a member of the National Professional Women’s Organization and National WHO’s WHO.

    Marianne’s area of expertise is in the upstream oil and gas sector, especially in exploration and production. She has recruited petroleum engineers, geoscientists, and land professionals across the United States with a diverse clientele. Her success has led to consultant work with companies and firms.

    Marianne credits her success to her ability to empathize with her clientele and candidates, identifying personal strengths and desires and helping match those with companies who are similarly motivated. Marianne’s friendly, people-first professional philosophy has brought her many repeat clients and the admiration of her colleagues.

    Oil & Gas

    Nina Buck is a Partner and Sr. Recruiter at Walker Elliott. Born in Bosnia and Herzegovina, formerly Yugoslavia, Nina immigrated to the US in 1996. She was a senior in high school. She received her Bachelor degree in Public Relations from the University of Houston before participating in Enterprise Rent-A-Car’s Management Training program. After one too many car washes under the hot Houston sun, she decided to part ways with the rental business and try her hand at recruiting. She soon discovered her calling and has been recruiting for the same company ever since.

    Nina specializes in the placement of Petroleum Engineers, Geoscientists and Land professionals in the Oil &Gas industry. Her clientele includes start-ups and small-to-medium sized oil and gas companies, both private and public. She has been recognized as a top performer in her company for 8 straight years. She enjoys spending time with her son and husband and is a big fan of live music and traveling.

    Due to her professional success, Nina is currently member of Pinnacle Society, the nation’s premier consortium of top recruiters within the direct placement and search industry. For more than 20 years, the Pinnacle Society has provided the nation’s top recruiters a forum in which to exchange the business principles and placement techniques that led them to achieve, and allows them to maintain their success.

    Information Technology

    A founding partner of the Walker Elliott team, Amanda Hayes is a talent scout with over 20 years of experience. She has recruited in the IT sector since 1997, with prior experience in marketing and sales in the personnel industry. Her love for recruiting comes from a desire to help her client’s solve their talent problems creatively, and helping people achieve their job search goals.

    Amanda has a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Houston. She then worked as a recruiter and manager for another recruiting company for almost ten years before becoming a founding member of the Walker Elliott team. Her interest in people and solving problems make her recruiting work exceptional.

    Amanda’s work philosophy is communication-centered. A talented listener, Amanda tries to read between the lines and use creative efforts to expertly match companies with candidates. Amanda herself feels well-matched with her work at Walker Elliott, growing and sustaining successful relationships while helping people. Understanding how personally challenging the job search can be, she is a passionate believer that each candidate is unique and has much to offer the marketplace.
