    Betsy Elliott is the founder and managing partner of Walker Elliott. Betsy has spent 30+ years in the technical recruiting industry. She has a passion for establishing long-term relationships with her clients, with many business partnerships which have lasted over 20 years. Whether she is working on a specialized search assignment or just helping candidates establish salary budgets or performance reviews, Betsy works to provide clientele with the highest level of service.

    Betsy earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Computer Science from the University of North Texas. She established Walker Elliott after spending many years as a successful manager with a national firm, where she led teams in all aspects of technical recruiting. She enjoyed 20 consecutive years of profitability in what was usually the most profitable division of the firm.

    As a founder, Betsy’s first goal was to establish the right professional culture, collaborative team structure and compensation plan to attract, hire, and retain the top recruiting talent. Her second goal was to provide clients with the best market intelligence and search services in market niches. Betsy’s top recruiters have an average of 14 years’ experience recruiting in a technical niche.

    Betsy has accomplished her vision for Walker Elliott. The Walker Elliott team is the finest of its kind, and the company has been listed in Inc. Magazine’s America’s Fastest-Growing Private Companies: Inc. 5000 for three consecutive years. The company has also been listed in the Houston 100 two years in a row and in the Top Direct Hire Firms in Houston for two years.

    A founding partner of the Walker Elliott team, Amanda Hayes is a talent scout with over 20 years of experience. She has recruited in the IT sector since 1997, with prior experience in marketing and sales in the personnel industry. Her love for recruiting comes from a desire to help her client’s solve their talent problems creatively, and helping people achieve their job search goals.

    Amanda has a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Houston. She then worked as a recruiter and manager for another recruiting company for almost ten years before becoming a founding member of the Walker Elliott team. Her interest in people and solving problems make her recruiting work exceptional.

    Amanda’s work philosophy is communication-centered. A talented listener, Amanda tries to read between the lines and use creative efforts to expertly match companies with candidates. Amanda herself feels well-matched with her work at Walker Elliott, growing and sustaining successful relationships while helping people. Understanding how personally challenging the job search can be, she is a passionate believer that each candidate is unique and has much to offer the marketplace.

    Marcques T. Bridges is an IT technical recruiter for Walker Elliott, although he prefers to think of his work as a type of sales, selling IT professionals a lifestyle and career change that will benefit them and their families. For him, recruiting is selling someone a better future. He says of his work, “I have seen the difference that the right job can make in someone’s life. That’s why I do what I do.”

    Marcques has been in the recruiting industry for 2 years where he is learning the business through hands-on training, senior recruiter mentoring, and daily communication with IT professionals/clients in the market. His past work experience involves a variety of sales with a diverse clientele. This strength may be a large factor to his rapid growth and success in recruiting

    Marcques was raised in the Houston area and attended college at the University of Texas at Arlington where he received his Bachelor degree in Psychology with a minor in Biology. Marcques enjoys spending time with his 2 boys (ages 8 and 4) and competitive basketball.

    Mike Dillingham is a Sr. Recruiter at Walker Elliott where he has worked since 2007 recruiting in the IT sector. With over 20 years of experience in the IT field, Mike has learned the industry from the inside which has allowed him to make strategic placements, even placements in leadership positions. He specializes in recruiting programmers and software engineers.

    Mike moved from Houston to attend the University of Texas at Austin. After his time in Austin, he went on to receive a degree from Texas Tech in Psychology and History.

    Mike’s professional strengths include training and professional advancement.

    Mary Grantham is a Sr. Recruiter at Walker Elliott where she first began in 2007. Mary received her Bachelor in Business Administration, with a major in Accounting, from Texas Tech University where she is an alumna of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.

    Mary has worked in IT recruiting for over 20 years, with an accomplished record working for several firms, including Robert Half and GE IT Solutions, before ultimately finding her home at Walker Elliott. In addition to a successful career in Technology Staffing, at GE IT Solutions she garnered experience crafting proposals and doing presentations to some of the top Houston companies and executives. Those projects centered around technology refreshes, consulting services and ongoing onsite support.

    Mary's professional philosophy is people-centric. She tries to bring herself and her personality into her work relationships. For her, work is about putting the pieces of the puzzle together – connecting her clients with the right resources and creating value.

    Jennafer Payne has been with Walker Elliott since 2010 as a Sr. Recruiter in the Information Technology practice. Jennafer is a native Houstonian, but lived in Dallas during high school. When she was only in elementary school, Jennafer set her mind to graduating high school one year early, which she did in '99 before going to Stephen F. Austin State University where she received a Bachelor of Business Administration.

    An alumna of the Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternaty, Jennafer has always had a strong business sense and has enjoyed developing professional relationships with others.

    After school, Payne worked for a time as an Account Manager at Enterprise Rent-A-Car. She then entered the recruiting/consulting field after a successful time at Enterprise, working for Brooke Companies before joining the Walker Elliott team. Her passion for excellent comes from her ongoing desire to make the right match for each candidate and client.

    Lisa McCowan joined Walker Elliott as a Technical Recruiter in 2016. Growing up as an “Air Force Brat”, Lisa has been fortunate to live and travel all over the world making new friends wherever she goes. After graduating and receiving her Bachelor of Science in Human Resources Management from the University of Maryland, Lisa decided to make Houston home.

    A talented recruiter, Lisa holds a great deal of experience in Sales and Marketing. After college, she worked as a Branch Manager at Enterprise Holdings. There is where she was able to train and help grow her employees while providing exceptional customer service to every customer she encountered. From there, she went on to serve as a Regional Marketing Specialist at Johnson Supply, where she teamed up with the Sales Team to Market and grow the business.

    Lisa’s passion for people and making a difference led her to recruiting where she feels she can assist her clients in finding their next great step to advance their career and improve their lives.

    Tonya Spell is an achieved recruiter in the IT sector with experience in the industry since 1998. A graduate of Texas A&M University, Tonya is an accomplished business development consultant, earning the Top Recruiting Consultant award for both contract and full-time staffing. Tonya practices full life cycle recruiting with an emphasis on the long- term success of her candidates. Her professional excellence comes from her attention to detail in the interviewing process.

    Those who have worked with her have said Tonya has relentless work ethic and has an exceptional ability to find open doors for her recruits. Her clientele often praises Tonya’s insight and savvy. Current and former clients include Chevron, Halliburton, Dril-Quip, EAG Consulting, SAIC, Rosetta Resources, Oxy, and Wireless Seismic.

    Tonya has served the Houston A&M Club as a VP and serves in leadership at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo where she has been involved for over 15 years.
